Fall 2024 - Spring 2025
The Inklings Series
From September 2024 - April 2025, we hosted a series on the Inklings. The Inklings were four friends who regularly met to discuss things like literature and philosophy. The most famous of the four include C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.
During this time we dove into works from these authors. The series began with an overview of the group, presented by Jake Grefenstette, president and executive director of the International Poetry Forum and instructor at Carnegie Mellon University. The series continued with readings from Lewis and Tolkien, as well as a three-part viewing of the Lord of the Rings. And the series concluded in the spring of 2025 with a six-part series exploring excerpts from C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters, juxtaposed with writings from St. John Henry Newman. Special thanks are owed to the National Institute for Newman Studies for facilitating this discussion group.
