Beatrice Institute’s 2026 Spring Salon takes a different tone this year, featuring the Pittsburgh Premier of this award winning documentary followed by an interview and discussion with director Kate Stapleton and her husband Casey.
“Adoption stories are often told from the perspective of adoptees or adoptive parents…The Inner Sea…changes that narrative by offering a rare glimpse into the adoption experience through the eyes of a birth mother.
Kate Stapleton, who plays the role of the first-time filmmaker and birth mother, invites audiences to witness the emotional complexities of adoption, identity, and healing.”
